Who says health can’t be fun? The Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine provided the opportunity to collaborate on a brochure focused on heart health. This two-part brochure project explores the theme of heart health awareness through a visual analogy to technology; an idea that anyone in our modern, high-tech day can relate to. Titled Is your Heart Charged and Virus Detected, the project reimagines the human body as a device that sends alerts when something is wrong. Drawing inspiration from user interface graphics, system errors, and notifications, the layouts connect physical symptoms to digital alerts. This signifies detection of heart health issues and the components of a healthy heart. The high contrast color palettes and punchy typography exemplify the urgency and importance of heart health. We don’t ignore when our devices send us alerts, so why not treat our hearts the same?
